11 Academic institutions in 10 states in 9 technology areas

India has more than 5000 colleges and universities, more than any other country. In science and technologies, it has the 23 world-renowned IITs, IISc and dozens of private colleges and universities, in addition to NITs. The total number of technical faculty at these institutions is estimated to be more than 20,000. In the initial phase of the proposed IDSPS program, 9 IITs, IISc, BITS Pilani, and about 25 other colleges and universities are participating. Approximately 30 faculty members are actively involved in the IDSPS program, while 50 others are participating selectively.
